<p>About a month ago I picked up my camera after a long hiatus and wandered about the neighborhood, exploring streets I had never seen before.  I ended up peeking through the fences of people's back yards and found whole worlds within.  I held off posting these for a long time since the white balance is off and different for each photo, but I've decided that they're done and I like what I have.<br />

<p>I'm a little bothered by the composition (am I allowed to use that word? I think I will do so out of protest) but I really like how the blurry tines flow and slope into focus.  This was taken in the same session as the cheese grater but with a paper towel over the window to soften the light.  While I was taking the pictures I thought that the paper darkened it too much but I really like the soft effect it produced.</p>

<p>Here is another one which I think is more interesting but perhaps less good technically.</p>
